Skills USA Legislative Visit

 

Alex Burgi and myself both had the opportunity to go to Olympia and visit our State Capital. Alex Burgi is currently a Skills USA State officer from the Eastern Region of Washington. While at the State Capital we participated in campaigning the importance of Skills USA and CTE classes to the Legislators.

NEWTECH Summer Academy 2013

The Summer Academy classes are open to all current 8th through 12th grade students. There is no cost to attend the Academy. Students must provide their own transportation.

Back to School!

It is the official first day back to NEWTECH Skills Center, we would like to welcome all new and returning students to the 2012-2013 school year!

It's not too late if you are interested in attending a NEWTECH Skills Center class and have not signed up for a course yet. Just talk to your school counselor and call the NEWTECH office at (509)354-7470.

NEWTECH Has Officially Gone Green

NEWTECH Skill Center has been working on turning the school into a engery and waste efficient enviroment. Over the past two years we have taken numerous steps to activly participate in finding new ways to cut down energy use through out the building and have now been awarded a Level 1 Washington Green Schools Certificate.

While now being a part of the Washington Green Schools program we have been informed that we are the first in the Spokane County to earn a Level 1 Certificate.

 

New Skills USA State Officer

Alex Burgi a student of the Mobile Electronics class at the NEWTECH Skill Center has been elected to be a Skills USA State Officer for the 2012-2013 school year.

We would like to congratulate him on the important leadership role of representing NEWTECH as well as the state.

Skills USA is a student lead organization that allows students to share their passion for their career and technical skills that they have learned and obtained through a CTE course.
